The Heartbeat Movement, in partnership with Dream Corps Justice, is holding Ohio’s inaugural day of action for unity in the community to plan for community development and criminal justice transformation. Learn how the Heartbeat Movement is working to create windows of opportunities in Franklin County and the State of Ohio.
The purposes of this event include the following.
• Build empathy in elected officials
• Humanize and uplift stories of those who have been impacted by the criminal justice system
• Raise awareness about issues within the community and how people can help bring positive change
This is Dream Corps Justice’s sixth year holding this event and Ohio’s inaugural largest day of action for unity and community, community development, and criminal justice transformation. We would like for you to hear about the most challenging issues facing the residents in Ohio. Given your commitment to creating change, learn firsthand how Heartbeat Movement Incorporated is working to create windows of opportunities for people who are impacted by the injustice of the Criminal Justice legal system and the interconnectedness that minorities face regarding poverty, crime, violence, addiction, trauma, hunger, and broken families in Franklin County and the state of Ohio.
This national event is an excellent occasion to reach families, organizers, and community partners who collaborate with Heartbeat Movement are striving to ensure that impoverished, marginalized, and justice-impacted people in Ohio have the same opportunity to learn about our future initiatives to create Transformational change in Ohio.
As part of the agenda for this year’s Day of Empathy, we are focusing attention on sharing our game plan to create positive change and new vision for the great state of Ohio, to be the nation’s leader in reducing violence, crime, poverty, hungry, addiction, trauma, and broken families by creating equity in Ohio, as well as strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
