Columbia University encampment

Welcome to AmeriKKKa, the home of White mass shooters and land of “No black lives matter.” We have been taught that America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, but I’m having a hard time believing that statement in light of what happened to pro-Palestinian student activists Mahmoud Khalil of Columbia University and Liu Lijun, a grad student at University of California, Los Angeles, CLA- Mahmoud is a green cardholder and Miss Lijun is on a student visa. These are dark days in America.

Two days ago, petition demanding the immediate release of Palestinian student activist Mahmoud Khalil has garnered nearly 900,000 signatures after his detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on Saturday.

Even though all members of Congress swore oaths to defend the right to speak freely and assemble to petition for the redress of grievances, only 14 House Democrats sent a letter today to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, demanding the immediate release of Mahmoud Khalil, the Columbia University graduate who has been arrested and detained based on accusations stemming from his campus advocacy for Palestinian rights. A legal resident of the United States who holds a green card and is married to a US citizen, Khalil was arrested Saturday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and detained in Louisiana. No Republican members of the House or the Senate who brag about putting America first has signed the letter.

The First Amendment protects everyone in the US. The government’s actions are obviously intended to intimidate and chill speech on one side of a public debate,”

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) warns: "Today It's Mahmoud Khalil—Tomorrow It's Me or You."

One of the most powerful US official responses to Kahil's abduction came from Democratic Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, who exposed the government hypocrisy and warned about the impact of the assault of freedom of speech.

Meanwhile, in a statement posted to X, The Apartheid Defense League (ADL) praised the government action to curb antisemitism and hailed ICE agents' abduction of Columbia University student protester Mahmoud Khalil and the revocation of his green card by ICE over Columbia University protests

However, American Jewish organization If Not Now, who organizes the Jewish community to end U.S. support for Israel's apartheid system and demand equality, justice, and a thriving future for all Palestinians and Israelis issued the following statement: "It’s outrageous. ICE abducted Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University student activist, from his home because he was organizing for Palestinian rights. He’s now being held indefinitely and separated from his wife, who is eight months pregnant."

When local WSYX ABC decided to conduct on a poll: "Do you think the US should deport a pro-Palestinian student?" Local Palestinian attorney Mazen Rasoul blasted the TV station saying "it's ridiculous and unbelievably dehumanizing for a media outlet to even consider conducting such a poll or accepting the notion that it is OK to use immigration as a weapon to silence free speech.

Rasoul added, however, WSYX ABC 6 decided that it’s OK to conduct such a pool. He encourages his followers to vote and to write a message to ABC6 that this is unacceptable. Rasoul further asked, "Imagine a major news outlet conducting a poll on “do you think the US government should deport all Jewish people who support the genocide” or any other scenario you can imagine! https://abc6onyourside.com/.../vote-do-you-think-the...

That would be rejected right off hand, and it would not set well with the local Jewish community!
