Details about event

Through Saturday, December 5, 2020
As an alternative to the usual holiday consumption, Simply Living, a community organization that promotes sustainability, environmental awareness, and our local economy, will hold Gift To Be Simple, an online auction of new and gently used items donated by members and supporters from Black Friday on November 27 through December 5. Goods and services donated by business members of Simply Living will also be available for purchase, with proceeds going to fund programs such as Simply Living’s Sustainable University, Transition Hub, events and learning opportunities for living locally and sustainably. As part of Gift To Be Simple, Simply Living will host a special screening of the new documentary about regenerative agriculture Kiss the Ground on Wednesday, December 2, at 7 p.m. Narrated by Woody Harrelson, Kiss the Ground shows how we can stabilize the Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems, and create abundant food supplies through regenerating the world’s soils. The screening will be followed by a panel of local experts and farmers practicing regenerative agriculture and permaculture in Central Ohio. Registration is on Eventbrite.  Signing up to bid on items in the Gift To Be Simple auction is free at give.simplyliving.org. Participants can also use an online form to donate new or gently used items to be auctioned. Items up for bid will be added throughout the event. Participants can also purchase or renew their annual membership in Simply Living on our main website at simplyliving.org.
