Tuesday, March 9, 12pm, this on-line event requires advance registration

In this webinar, you will hear our experts talk about the current law briefly (see our February 9 webinar for a deeper look), discuss the changes we are proposing, and how those changes fit in with the movement’s national strategy and principles.

We will discuss the difference between what is legislative and what is a courtroom defense strategy. This is a chance to really clear up any questions you might have arising from real life scenarios. Let’s get ready to talk to legislators and other decision makers from a strong position of understanding what the new legislation really does for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Please join panelists Zachary McCune, Equitas Health; Dominic Detwiler, Equality Ohio; Marguerite Schauer, Center for HIV Law and Policy; and Bryan C. Jones, activist.

Learning objectives include the following.

1. Gain general information about Ohio’s HIV criminalization laws

2. Learn how proposed changes to these laws will impact people in the real world

3. Learn what the differences are between legislative changes and courtroom strategies

4. Gain an understanding of how to use all this information to better advocate for yourself or help clients defend themselves against existing laws and how to advocate for changes.
