Sunday, September 4, 11pm-12:30am, Studio 35 Cinema & Draft House, 3055 Indianola Ave.
Come watch Overbites Pictures’ short documentary “American Mayor” at the legendary Studio 35 Cinema & Draft House in honor of the film’s 15th anniversary! Director and Bexley native Travis Irvine will also be on hand for a brief question-and-answer period following the screening!
“American Mayor” focuses on the iconic 2007 Bexley mayor’s race and how a 24-year-old filmmaker/comedian had to run against seven other people to stand up for his neighbors. Knowing nothing about running for mayor, his team documented the 130-day campaign and showed how one person can make a difference in local politics. The documentary made the festival rounds in 2010, screening at the Festival de Cannes’ Short Film Corner, Palm Springs International Film Festival & Palm Springs ShortFest and others.
Doors open at 10:30pm; the screening begins at 11pm! Tickets are $10 and are available for purchase here.
Hosted by Studio 35 Cinema & Draft House, Overbites Pictures, and Travis Irvine.
