Tuesday, March 25, 9am-3pm, Trinity Episcopal Church on Capitol Square, 125 E. Broad St.
Register today for our “Budget is a Moral Document Advocacy Day.” Learn about the state budget and you will be assigned to a team to meet with lawmakers to advocate for priorities that can end hunger in our communities! Sponsorship opportunities are available!
The state budget sets the direction of our state for the next two years. Join us to learn about the budget and share stories about our communities and what our lawmakers can do to end hunger and poverty in our communities.
The Budget: The Governor introduced his budget on February 3 and the Ohio General Assembly is reviewing his proposal and writing their own. We need to lift up the voices of people of faith and good conscience to help the Ohio General Assembly prioritize our hungry neighbors.
The Day:
8:45am: Gather at Trinity Episcopal Church. Over coffee and refreshments, we will pray and hear from policy experts who will brief us on the issues of the day.
10am: Legislative teams will go across the street to the Ohio Statehouse for pre-arranged legislative meetings
12noon: Boxed lunches will be available at Trinity Episcopal Church for you to stay and eat or carry to your next meeting.
1pm: Afternoon meetings will last until 2pm or 3pm (come for all or part of the day!)
Each team will have at least one experienced advocate to lead the group.
