I felt shock and disgust when extremist protesters at the Ohio Statehouse brandished offensive and antisemitic signs to create fear. I didn’t want to believe that this could happen in the capitol of my home state in 2020.
Soon after, hateful protesters picketed directly outside the home of Dr. Amy Acton, Director of Ohio’s Department of Health, who is also Jewish. This is a dangerous trend. That’s why Faith in Public Life is partnering with Project Over Zero for an important webinar training on Thursday, May 21, at 11am, “Counteracting Antisemitism and Dangerous Narratives in the Time of COVID-19.”
Violent language and imagery threaten people’s lives and the very fabric of our communities. The grounding ethic, that we share, to “love your neighbor,” compels us to let no one face hate alone. I hope that you will be able to join this poignant and insightful training for faith leaders.
