Thursday, December 9, 7pm, this on-line event requires advance registration

For democracy to work, systemic racial inequities in the law and the courts must be addressed. There is a deep distrust of the criminal justice system, which is inherently an issue unto itself while also threatening the legitimacy of the courts. Breaking down these barriers is key to eliminating racism and implicit biases within the laws, courts, and judges, and is also key to building diversity on the bench so that judges will reflect the communities they serve.

Panelists include Kyle Strickland, Senior Legal Analyst at the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at The Ohio State University; Rev. Raymond Greene, Jr., executive director of Freedom BLOC; and Maria Bruno, Public Policy Director, Equality Ohio.
