CEHV will welcome Dr. Michele Moody-Adams, the Joseph Straus Professor of Political Philosophy and Legal Theory at Columbia University, as our Distinguished Lecturer in Ethics for 2022-2023.

Professor Moody-Adams will speak on the topic “Controlling the Narrative: Meaning, Value and Power in Public Life.” She has published on equality and social justice, moral psychology and the virtues, and the philosophical implications of gender and race. The author of a widely-cited book on moral relativism, Fieldwork in Familiar Places: Morality, Culture and Philosophy, her most recent book is Making Space for Justice: Social Movements, Collective Imagination, and Political Hope.

This event is free and open to the public. In-person attendance is encouraged, but attendees are welcome to access the event virtually.
