Friday, March 31, 11:30am-12:20pm, Parks Hall [Rm. 103], 500 W. 12th Ave.

The OSU College of Pharmacy and the OSU Center for Ethics and Human Values [CEHV] will present a colloquium on “Ethical Issues Surrounding the Underregulated Supplement Industry” with guest speaker Pieter Cohen, MD (Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School) and commentator Patricia Zettler, JD (Associate Professor of Moritz College of Law). This event is organized and moderated by Jason Chen, the postdoctoral researcher in applied ethics at the OSU College of Pharmacy and the OSU Center for Ethics and Human Values [CEHV].

Past research has shown that supplements sometimes do not contain the active ingredients stated on their labels and that some even contain contaminants. This raises wide health concerns given that more than half of all Americans take dietary supplements. How should the supplement industry be regulated?

This event is open to the public.

Hosted by OSU College of Pharmacy and OSU Center for Ethics and Human Values [CEHV].
