Wednesday, June 12, 3:30pm, Ohio Statehouse
What: More than a hundred returning citizens will convene at the Statehouse to rally support for the GROW [Getting Rehabilitated Ohioans Working] Act and to raise awareness of collateral sanctions that hold back over a million Ohioans from fully reintegrating into their communities.
When: Wednesday, June 12, starting at 3:30pm
Where: Ohio Statehouse (West Plaza; facing High Street)
Who: Advocates with Building Freedom Ohio and Ohio Organizing Collaborative
Why: Formerly incarcerated and felony-impacted individuals in Ohio face significant barriers and restrictions. Defined as collateral sanctions, these unfair laws, policies, and practices perpetuate cycles of poverty, stigma, and recidivism, marginalizing over a million individuals in Ohio and their families.
Hosted by Building Freedom Ohio and Ohio Organizing Collaborative.
