We are hosting another health equity workshop! We will be discussing “Barriers to Care for Americans with Disabilities,” hosted by Dr. Amanda Hinson-Enslin, an assistant professor in the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences of the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. A panel of persons with hearing disabilities will join her in the discussion as they share their stories and personal impacts navigating the U.S. healthcare system. This event is free and virtual. ASL interpreters and closed captions will be available.

Amanda Hinson-Enslin, an assistant professor in the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences of the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in epidemiology, health promotion, health education, and health program planning and evaluation. She is a member of the American Public Health Association’s Public Health Education and Health Promotion section and Disability section. She is the chair of the Advocacy subcommittee for Public Health Education and Health Promotion section and a member of the Membership Engagement and Professional Development subcommittees. She is also a member of Wright State’s Digital Accessibility Committee. Her research focuses on identifying and addressing health disparities among individuals with disabilities through health promotion programs.
