Saturday, April 3, 10am, this event will be occurring via Zoom

Our right to free speech in Ohio is under attack in multiple bills at the Statehouse! S.B. 33, that bars protest at oil and gas infrastructure sites, passed in January. Since then, four more bills are in committee.

These new bills (H.B. 22, H.B. 109, S.B. 16, and S.B. 41) are so vague — and at the same time are o draconian — that those of us who participate in any kind of peaceful public witness events anywhere — for any reason — risk being incarcerated and paying heavy fines for something as simple as stepping into the street or throwing confetti.

Some of these bills even include huge penalties for organizations such as UUJO for advertising or organizing such events. These penalties would bankrupt most non-profit organizations.

We need people to help plan the Columbus protest to be held 12noon-1pm on Saturday, April 10. This is to raise awareness of the anti-protest bills in the Ohio Senate and House that threaten our First Amendment rights.

It’s time for us to come together in coalition and stop these dangerous bills from being enacted. Are you in? Sign-on to join the effort at bit.ly/ourvoicestogethersignon.

Please use this Zoom link to join this event.

If you want to receive announcements about April 10, or want to attend even if you can’t help plan, please sign up at bit.ly/ourvoicestogetherapr10.

Hosted by UUJO: Unitarian Universalist Justice Ohio.
