Thursday, February 2, 7pm, Enarson Classroom Building [Rm. 214], 2009 Millikin Rd., and online at tinyurl.com/CORSmeeting

Join Central Ohio Revolutionary Socialists on Thursday, February 2 at 7pm for a discussion of the meaning of “If we don’t get it shut it down.”

This popular protest chant can be heard at many progressive protests. But how do we translate slogans like these into effective action?

This discussion will consider how we can build a radical working-class movement which can really shut the system of oppression down and reorganize society on the basis of true freedom and equality.

A suggested short reading for the meeting is John Berger’s essay, “The Nature of Mass Demonstrations” which is available here: marxists.org/history/etol/newspape/isj/1968/no034/berger.htm. Berger, in this wonderfully-written piece, considers the symbolic and real significance of protest movements.

This meeting will take place on the Ohio State University Campus in Enarson Classrooms Building [Rm. 214] and online at tinyurl.com/CORSmeeting.

Hosted by Central Ohio Revolutionary Socialists.
