“Inhale/Exhale” is a safe space for progressive organizers to learn tools to heal and process the work and all that comes with it. “Inhale/Exhale” is a restorative healing space. In this installment, we will discuss trauma-informed care. Have you heard about trauma-informed care? Do you know what that means? In this healing session, we will go over the definition of trauma, and what being trauma-informed means. Using the definition of trauma-informed care, we will discuss how this is related to our physical space and how an environment’s design can help us feel less traumatized. We will be guided by Dr. Kynetta Sugar McFarlane. Her website, Transformative Health, may be found at transformativehealth.net.
