As a Marine, astronaut, U.S. Senator, and a celebrated son of Ohio, John Glenn lived a life of service to his country and humankind. Join the Ohio Public Policy Archives, in partnership with the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, as we welcome Dr. Alice George to discuss her new book The Last American Hero: The Remarkable Life of John Glenn. Dr. George and Public Policy Archivist Carly Dearborn will discuss the man behind the legacy and his enduring impact on the country and the world. Pre-order a copy of the book from Gramercy Books.

Dr. George, a historian and former journalist, is the author of a number of books focusing on 20th-century American history, including The Assassination of John F. Kennedy: Political Trauma and American Memory, Awaiting Armageddon: How Americans Faced the Cuban Missile Crisis, and The Cuban Missile Crisis: The Threshold of Nuclear War. Her work has also been published in Smithsonian Magazine.
