Thursday, September 30, 12noon-1:30pm, this on-line event requires advance registration
Join the Northeast Ohio Worker Center on September 30 at 12noon for a “Lunch and Learn” on union organizing. The Northeast Ohio Worker Center (NEOWC) has a mission to build power in our communities through worker education, organizing, and advocacy.
We do this work while understanding that the urgency and fight for a more just economy is not shared equally by all. That’s why we must center our work on the lived experiences of working people who have been exploited, communities of color, and their intersecting identities around class, gender, sexual orientation, and other marginalized identities.
This “Lunch and Learn” will explore the following topics:
• State of the labor movement
• Why unions matter for members and non-members
• U.S. labor history appetizer
• Key challenges facing labor movement
• What this all means for worker organizing in Northeast Ohio
