Tuesday, October 22, 8-10pm, this on-line event requires advance registration
Come join us on October 22 to stand up against police brutality and put an end to the construction of “cop cities” in our communities.
At $90M, Atlanta’s planned “Cop City” is expected to become one of the largest police training centers in the United States. The influx of these facilities parallels the emergence of the Defund the Police movement, which — following the murder of George Floyd in 2020 — saw thousands of people across the country mobilize to decry police violence against Black and Brown communities.
This virtual event is a discussion and call to action to raise awareness of “cop cities” across America, demand accountability, and present solutions that will bring us closer to stopping the construction of these facilities.
This virtual event will feature impactful speakers including Uncle Bobby of Families United for Justice, Dr. Melina Abdullad of Black Lives Matter, Dr. Cynthia Swann of Hip Hop Caucus, Jacki Othon of Stop Cop City Colorado Springs, Devin Barrington of Black Futurists Group, Lorenzo Serna of the NDN Collective, and Renae A. Badruzzaman of Human Impact Partners.
