The Patient Empowerment Series is back! Presented collaboratively by Equitas Health Institute and Stonewall Columbus, this series is intended to uplift intersectional lived experiences in relation to engaging with healthcare. For the latest iteration of the series, we welcome you to join our panelists as they share stories from their lived experiences of navigating healthcare and queer and disabled community spaces.

Health and healthcare spaces are sites of power and abuse. Barriers are magnified for disabled queer folks. One of the powerful things about queerness is community and connection, and one of the most difficult things about being disabled or chronically ill is the way that ableism isolates us from community. How do queer disabled and chronically ill people live our fabulous, and sometimes difficult, sick, and disabled queer lives while navigating systems that were not built for us?

American Sign Language interpreters and CART [Communication Access Realtime Translation] services will be provided by Heritage Interpreting.
