The Patient Empowerment Series highlights the health experiences of LGBTQ+ community members, focusing on intersectional perspectives. It’s intended to amplify important issues, empowering participants to advocate for themselves and their communities.
This session will focus on the intersectional experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals who identify as non-monogamous, exploring how their relationship structures influence their interactions with healthcare providers. Non-monogamous people often face unique challenges when accessing care, such as stigma, misunderstandings about relationship dynamics, and lack of recognition of their needs by healthcare professionals.
This session will address these specific barriers, offering tools for both patients and providers to foster a more inclusive, respectful, and supportive healthcare environment. Through open dialogue and expert insights, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of recognizing and affirming non-monogamous identities, empowering them to advocate for better, more holistic care.
