Join moderator Dr. Ben Huelskamp (he/him), Executive Director of LOVEboldly, for a discussion about how religion can influence and impact LGBTQ+ folks, in regard to accessing healthcare and beyond.

Ben will be joined by a panel of LGBTQ+ folks to share the unique perspectives and stories of their faith and identities.

Mission Statement: The Patient Empowerment series centers the experiences of LGBTQ+ community members with matters of health and healthcare. With an emphasis on uplifting intersectional lived experiences, the series gives voice to the issues important to LGBTQ+ communities while empowering panelists and audiences to become advocates for themselves, each other, and our communities.

• Stonewall Columbus, founded in 1981, is a cornerstone of LGBTQ+ life in Columbus. Today, Stonewall’s mission and vision is to “increase visibility, inclusion, and connection for the LGBTQ+ community so we see a community where all of us thrive.”

• The Equitas Health Institute is the education and research division of Equitas Health, focused on reducing LGBTQ+ and HIV health disparities.

• Through the Patient Empowerment series, the two organizations engage local and regional LGBTQ+ communities in a shared goal of reducing stigma and promoting good health for all.
