Thursday, November 21, 3-4pm, this on-line event requires advance registration

The election results are in, and a second Trump administration will be hostile to science and to the evidence-based solutions we need to protect public health and reduce the impacts of climate change. We are going to need scientists and science advocates to stay vigilant to hold our decision-makers accountable and protect against attacks on science.

We’ve made some serious strides in the past few years on the issues that the Union of Concerned Scientists [UCS] works on: the strongest set of vehicles emission standards for passenger cars and trucks to date; stronger protections from PFAS [Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances], ethylene oxide, and from potential chemical plant disasters; and a White House framework on scientific integrity that is closely aligned with UCS recommendations. Progress on those issues was possible not just because of working with administrations that valued science but because of holding decision-makers and agencies accountable regardless of who was in the White House.

Join UCS for a training webinar highlighting timely ways for scientists and science advocates to get involved in equitable, science-based advocacy after the 2024 election. We need you to stay engaged in the next weeks and months.

UCS experts will share insights about federal policy opportunities during the lame duck period and the first 100 days of the new administration, as well as highlighting timely and strategic ways for UCS supporters to get involved.

We hope to see you on November 21!
