Tuesday, September 14, 4pm, this on-line event requires advance registration

Join us on Tuesday, September 14, at 4pm, for “Power of the Lines: The Redistricting Process: Ohio Redistricting and Map Making for Classrooms,” a webinar for educators about Ohio redistricting and mapmaking curriculum. During this session, we will discuss how our redistricting and map-making educational resources and activities can be utilized in your classroom on Constitution Day (September 17) or anytime during Ohio’s redistricting process.

Redistricting is a crucial part of our democracy. This is an excellent opportunity for your students to learn about redistricting and participate in the map-making process in real time! These resources are suitable for fourth-grade to twelfth-grade classrooms.

New legislative maps that will impact our lives for the next decade will be drawn this year!

Every decade, after the census takes place, states draw new district maps for congressional and state legislative districts. The process for drawing these new maps is called redistricting and it varies for every state, but all states must redraw the districts with the new population data from the census.

Now, Ohio teachers can provide students with the tools and information they need to understand redistricting, its history, and its importance in good governance.

Please join us for this informative event to find out how teachers can help students understand and participate in the redistricting process in Ohio
