Columbus Coalition for the Homeless is proud to present a new educational webinar on “Racism and Homelessness.” This webinar will explore how racism affects homelessness, how to become more aware of racism and prejudice in society, and hopeful signs leading toward change and healing.

The program will cover the following topics.

1. Racism in America: A Brief History

2. Video: Homeless individuals share their personal experiences

3. Systemic Racism and Homelessness

4. Video: Blue eyes / brown eyes experiment, by Jane Elliott

5. Hopeful Signs: Changes in the landscape and how to get involved

6. In-depth Studies: COHHIO’s course on racism [Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio]

7. Questions and answers with audience and panelists

This program is made possible by a grant from The Columbus Foundation with technical assistance and support from COHHIO [Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio]. CEU’s for the program are pending for counselors and social workers.
