Thursday, December 21, 7-9pm, The Vanderelli Room, 218 McDowell St.
To cultivate a space of community and joy in these colder months, BQIC will be hosting the fifth annual Recognition Night for Trans/Non-Binary/GNC People of Color!
Recognition, visibility, inclusion, and public acceptance of those still living is incredibly important, just as is remembrance. To simply exist as a Trans/Nonbinary/GNC person of color is, in and of itself, an act of bravery. It’s crucial to give trans people of color their roses while they are still alive, so we invite you to join us in celebrating trans folks of color here in Central Ohio!
The night will feature performances from local artists, speeches, and an award ceremony. A free community dinner will be served!
Are you a trans person of color who wants to be honored or honor someone else at the recognition night? Fill out this form by 11:59pm on Saturday, December 16.
There is a wheelchair-accessible entrance at the back entrance off of the parking lot/alleyway. Please note: there is gravel leading up to this entrance, and we will have carpet laid out over this gravel. There will also be safety volunteers available to provide additional support if needed. Please contact <cbuscommunityprideinterpreters@gmail.com> to request close vision or tactile interpreters for all events.
Hosted by BQIC.
