The Regional Housing Strategy Speaker Series will bring together leaders from across the country to shine a light on the challenges facing our communities.
About this event
Housing is a basic — and increasingly unattainable — human need. What are the issues underlying the nation’s housing crisis and how do we address them? The Regional Housing Strategy Speaker Series will bring together thought leaders from across the country to shine a light on the challenges facing our communities, with a focus on innovative solutions.
Session IV: A Return to the 15-Minute City
Envision a community where residents can meet most of their daily needs, including getting to school, shopping, the library, park, or doctor’s appointments, within a 15-minute walk or bike ride from their homes, with transit access providing crucial regional connections. This is not a new idea. 15-minute cities exist across the world and in our favorite older American cities. Can a return to the 15-minute city help strengthen our sense of community and provide better opportunities for all residents? What do we need to do to get there?
