“Fethullah Gülen: His Life and Legacy,” by Hasan Savas Kaya

Dr. Hasan Savas Kaya’s presentation is dedicated to the life and legacy of an extraordinary leader and thinker: Fethullah Gülen. Known for his deep commitment to peace, education, and interfaith dialogue, Gülen’s influence has inspired millions across the globe to work towards positive change through the grassroots movement he nurtured, known as Hizmet (“service” in Turkish).

The Hizmet Movement, a community-driven initiative without formal membership or structure, spread worldwide through its focus on education, charity, and dialogue. From small groups to international networks, people were inspired by Gülen’s teachings and vision for a peaceful, educated, and compassionate world. But what made this scholar’s life and mission resonate so profoundly with people of all backgrounds and beliefs?

• What unique qualities made Fethullah Gülen such an influential figure on the world stage?

• Why does his passing deeply affect not only his followers but communities around the globe?

• How did he lead millions toward acts of service, education, and intercultural harmony?

• What made Hizmet, a movement without formal structure or membership, become a global force for good?

These questions and more will be explored by Dr. Savas Hasan Kaya in his presentation, where he will delve into the life, impact, and enduring legacy of Fethullah Gülen.
