Three Cranes Grove invites you to join us for a celebration of the Spring Equinox! We will be honoring Indra, Storm-God of the Vedas, celebrating his winning of the waters from the dragon Vritra.

This rite will be held hybrid, and all are welcome to attend either in person or on Zoom (see below for details).

Ritual: 3:30pm, with potluck afterward

What do you need for ritual?

• Our rituals honor the Three Kindreds (the Ancestors, the Spirits of Nature, and the Shining Godden), as well as the Being(s) of the Occasion, our honored guests — Indra, in this case. In addition to prayer and song, we generally give two rounds of offerings, one to the Kindreds generally and a second to our Being(s) of the Occasion. In person, feel free to bring whatever offerings you might wish to make; if you’re not sure, grain is generally a good choice. (We will also have some offering items available for your use.) On Zoom, you are welcome to make offerings at your home shrine if you have one, or to give offerings of your attention and praise.

• In person: We will have a potluck after the rite, so please bring a dish to share. Not sure what to bring? Anything will be welcome, but hearty main dishes are always especially welcome. Many people have dietary restrictions, so if you’d like to be especially hospitable, it’s great to have a label, especially if a dish may be appealing to a particular population (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.).

• Zoom: We will ask what blessings the Holy Ones offer us in exchange for our gifts, and we will call down those blessings into waters that we share. In person, we will pour out waters for all to share, but we will also bless your waters at home: have a beverage handy to receive those blessings.

The in-person ritual will be in the Spring Hollow Lodge at Sharon Woods Metro Park.

Please note: The Spring Hollow lodge uses the secondary entrance off of West Main St. in Westerville and is not accessible from the park entrance on Cleveland Ave. Google and other mapping systems tend to route correctly, but see the park map for detailed wayfinding.
