Thursday, April 27, 7-8:30pm, this on-line event requires advance registration
Utility companies in Ohio are raising prices while reaping profits and polluting our environment. Ratepayers are coming together across Ohio to take collective action against unjust, corrupt, and inequitable utility practices.
Due to high energy costs, AEP Ohio’s bills will be going up 28% June 1. On top of this increase, AEP is asking for an additional 5% rate hike to begin in 2024 and to go up 2% more each year until 2030. AEP needs to share the burden and not just pass it along to hard-hit Ohio ratepayers.
The Public Utilities Commission will be holding hearings on AEP’s rate increase [including a virtual hearing on May 9]. During this meeting, we’ll talk about how we can show up at the hearings to oppose the rate hikes and support lower utility bills, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.
You’ll learn about how to sign up for a hearing and deliver testimony. Our voices matter!
Hearings are:
• Monday, May 1, 6pm, Washington State Community College, Arts and Science Building [Graham Auditorium], 710 Colegate Dr., Marietta, OH 45750
• Tuesday, May 9, 11am, virtual hearing
