Wednesday, February 24, 12noon, this on-line event requires advance registration

Our January webinar, which was trans-specific with regard to HIV criminalization, was very popular. There were a lot of questions in the chat that told us that we needed to do a more general transgender-specific webinar. OHMM [Ohio Health Modernization Movement] invited TransOhio, Ohio’s statewide transgender advocacy organization, to do a webinar for our coalition.

Please join panelists James Knapp, Chair of TransOhio; Darius Stubbs, Vice Chair of TransOhio; and Linda Cox, TransOhio; for a webinar on what it means to be transgender and how to be a better ally.

Objectives: At the end of this session, participants and attendees should be able to

1. Define and understand basic transgender-related terminology

2. Explain the difference between transgender, non-binary, and intersex identities

3. Think critically about disparities faced by the larger transgender community, especially those living with HIV; and

4. Identify ways to be better advocates and allies in their own work
