Sunday, October 20, 1:30-3pm, Columbus Metropolitan Library [Main Branch] [Auditorium], 96 S. Grant Ave.

People love functioning bus and train transit service. So why isn’t it more common? For “Transit 101,” Shay and participants will delve into Power — who has it and how it is used to drive people, literally and figuratively, from dependable public services to sprawling, hot, paved, expensive and isolating single-occupancy vehicle life.

Attend if you:

• Are new to transit and mobility advocacy and just want to know how to get started

• Have been an advocate for a while, but want to get a better foundation

• Have been an advocate on other issues, but want to learn more about transit advocacy specifically

• Do not plan to be involved in advocacy long-term, but are dealing with a specific issue in your neighborhood and want to understand how to help solve the problem

Please note that both dates will cover the same material — you do not need to attend both.
