Pew Research Center has been measuring restrictions on religion, both by governments and social actors, since 2007. Join this webinar to learn how restrictions on religion — including how governments and societies limit religious beliefs and practices — have changed over time and what some of the striking findings are at the global, regional, and country levels.
Samirah Majumdar is a research associate at Pew Research Center, where she focuses on global restrictions on religion. Her research includes analyses of religion-related violence, government uses of force against religious groups, restrictions on women’s dress, and blasphemy laws around the world. She has authored several Pew Research Center reports, including “How COVID-19 Restrictions Affected Religious Groups Around the World in 2020” and “A Closer Look at How Religious Restrictions Have Risen Around the World.” Samirah holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from Barnard College.
