Mark your calendars now for this unique opportunity and join Equal UA and Asian American Community Services (AACS) on Monday, May 16, 7-8pm, via Zoom, for an event to mark Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Karen Jiobu, an Upper Arlington resident and former Executive Director of Asian American Community Services (located in UA), was one of 117,000 Americans of Japanese descent who were forcibly relocated by the U.S. government and incarcerated in isolated camps during WWII. Along with clips from the PBS documentary “Children of the Camps,” Jiobu will share her own memories of that time.
