Wednesday, September 28, 3-4pm, this on-line event requires advance registration

After the devastating reversal of Roe v. Wade, the U.S. abortion rights movement can draw much-needed inspiration from recent reproductive rights victories abroad. We invite you to join us on Wednesday, September 28, 3–4pm, for a special Leadership Forum. We will be joined by leading activists from Argentina and Ireland to discuss how their winning strategies can apply to the U.S. context and our fight to protect abortion access state by state.

We are honored to be joined by:

J.J. Straight, ACLU National Political Advocacy Deputy Director

Victoria Tesoreiro (Argentina), Feminist Activist

Ailbhe Smyth (Ireland), Feminist Activist and Campaigner

Katherine Zappone (Ireland), Feminist Activist and Former Minister of the Irish government

Rebecca Lowell Edwards (moderator), ACLU Chief Communications Officer

While each country has unique political, social, economic, and religious factors when it comes to abortion rights, there are universal best practices. We will discuss effective tactics in Argentina and Ireland that rallied the masses, messaging frameworks that resonated across aisles, and the path forward to win back abortion rights in the U.S.
