Join us as we honor Civil Rights legend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Our program includes a day filled with remembrance and celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The celebration will kick-off with the annual Martin Luther King Day March, which will begin at the King Arts Complex and will end at the historic Lincoln Theatre, where we will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King through an inspirational program featuring guest speaker Dr. Mary Frances Berry, one of the most visible activists in the cause of civil rights, gender equality and social justice in our nation, who had served as Chairperson of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission, demanding equal rights and liberties for all Americans, during four Presidential administrations.

Event details:

• 4pm: MLK Day March Kick-Off [including children’s activities, King calendars, lots of fellowship, speakers, and music], King Arts Complex [Nicholson Auditorium, located near the bell tower], 867 Mount Vernon Ave.

• 4:45pm: MLK March leaves from the King Arts Complex, 867 Mount Vernon Ave.

• 6pm: MLK Day Celebration featuring Dr. Mary Frances Berry, Lincoln Theatre, 769 E. Long St.
