Wednesday, May 5, 7pm, this on-line event requires advance registration

For 29 years, the League has honored leaders in the central Ohio community whose outstanding achievements have helped to promote democracy and empower voters. This year’s honoree is Amy Klaben. Besides honoring people who have greatly impacted our community, like the late Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer, retired Columbus Dispatch Managing Editor Mike Curtin, and former Justice Yvette McGee Brown, and now Amy Klaben, each year’s “Democracy in Action” event raises money to support the League’s imperative, nonpartisan voter service activities.

Amy Klaben has spent her career addressing the lack of affordable housing in central Ohio. For 16 years, she was the CEO of Homeport. In 2017, she started the “Move to Prosper” program that makes affordable rental housing in high-opportunity areas available to low-income single parent households. Honorary Co-Chairs for the event will be Senator Sherrod Brown, Maude Hill, V.P. of Homeport, and Janyce Katz, Esq.
