The Urban Cultural Arts Foundation is getting ready to celebrate ten years of the African Village Arts Festival having been a part of Columbus’s historic Bryden Road Community. The African Village Arts Festival will occur on August 20 in partnership with Central Community House.

On Friday, August 19, we will kick off the weekend’s festivities with a family-friendly Open Mic Night at the William H. Thomas Art Gallery, 1270 Bryden Rd. On Saturday, August 20, there we will be a full day of festivities at 1251 Bryden Rd. (Kwanzaa Playground). Entertainment and vendors will be there from 11am-7pm; Studio Live Workshop activities will be from 12noon-4pm. Additionally, you can join us on Sunday for our traditional art gallery opening reception, “Images from the Homeland Village,” with special guest Your Grace from Oyotunji Village of USA. Admission is free all weekend; donations will be accepted.
