Performance poetry is an integral part of the OSU African American Heritage Festival. It provides an environment for artists to share their personal experiences through the use of their own words. In its 37th year, the OSU African American Heritage Festival’s theme is love. The Poetry Showcase will display love’s many forms through the words of poets throughout Ohio. In three distinct sections, poets will be challenged to creatively convey the love of family, friends and romantic partners. The event will also feature original art themed on love in the African American community displayed throughout the room. Poet, educator and activist Dominique Christina will perform as well as host the night’s events. Come vibe with us. Come experience a powerful collaboration of music, art and poetry.
