Aromanticism is often misunderstood and unacknowledged by society. Norms built around compulsive heteronormativity and prioritizing romantic relationships impacts people’s ability to understand aromantic individuals. This in turn leads to stigma and shame for the community that interrupts the care that they need.

This presentation explores the facets of aromantic identity, gives voice to aromantic experiences, and provides clinicians with considerations for providing inclusive mental health care.
