Auditor’s Office to Hold “Shred Hunger” Event Offering Free Document Shredding, E-Recycling Services
The Franklin County Auditor’s office is joining with Ohio EPA and Star House to host a combination household-needs drive, document shredding and e-recycling event in Blendon Township on Saturday, November 8.
The “Shred Hunger” event will be held from 10 am to 1 pm at the Blendon Township Community Senior Center, 6330 Hempstead Rd. in Blendon Township/Westerville.
At the event, residents can bring documents, CDs and DVDs to be shredded onsite. Residents may also drop off electronics for recycling. Accepted items include computers, laptops, servers, network equipment, circuit boards, telecom equipment, hard drives, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, VCRs, DVDs, LCD and CRT monitors and televisions, tablets, computer peripherals and cell phones.
While dropping off items for recycling or shredding, residents are encouraged to donate household goods to support the community. Suggested donations include gift cards, bus passes, boxers and bras (new), blankets (new and gently used), duffle bags (new and gently used), hoodies (new and gently used), and socks. Donations benefit Star House, which supports homeless youth throughout central Ohio.
