Saturday, November 16, 1:30-4:30pm, St. John’s United Church of Christ, 59 E. Mound St.
The momentum, heart, and brilliance of Black liberation movements has been a catalyzing force for social justice in the U.S. and internationally since the slave trade first began. In recent years, the Movement for Black Lives has inspired an entire generation of activists to fight for a world where everyone has safety, dignity, power, and sustenance. Come hear from powerful Black movement leaders about their work and how to support projects building Black Liberation in our lifetimes: Aesha Rasheed from New Orleans, Veronica Morris-Moore from Chicago (biographies are below), and more to be announced. The panel will be moderated by Charlie Stewart.
This event is presented as part of the Ohio Anne Braden Program and is open to the public. There will be a requested donation of $5 to $20; no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
