Wendy’s believes that it can deceive shareholders and consumers with its façade of “corporate social responsibility.” Join us to reveal the truth about the Wendy’s supply chain and to remind shareholders that we are committed to #BoycottWendys until Wendy’s joins the Fair Food Program!

After months of sharply escalating action in the Wendy’s Boycott demanding that the corporation respect farmworkers’ human rights, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and their allies will show up in force outside of Wendy’s annual shareholder meeting this May 23 from 8am to 11am. As Wendy’s has refused for four years to meet face to face with farmworkers to negotiate their participation in the Fair Food Program; we will bring the call for farmworker justice directly to its doorstep, to its leadership, and to its shareholders.

This spring, thousands mobilized as part of the Return to Human Rights Tour in a unified cry on behalf of all struggles for human rights, highlighting Wendy’s decision to purchase tomatoes where working conditions are deplorable rather than use its market power to lift up human rights. A campaign at The Ohio State University to end the University’s contract with Wendy’s sparked over a month of rolling fasts in which hundreds of students, and their religious and communities’ partners, went without food in order to accentuate Wendy’s moral duty to respect workers’ rights rather than hide behind an empty code of conduct. And now, we are returning to the Wendy’s shareholder meeting more powerful than ever before. With this action, Wendy’s executives and shareholders will no longer be able to ignore the millions of consumers boycotting their restaurants as thousands of farmworkers lead their own victorious struggle for dignity.
