The U.S. EPA has awarded the 15-county Central Ohio region a $600,000 Brownfields Assessment Coalition grant to assess brownfield properties contaminated by hazardous substances, pollutants, or petroleum. [A brownfield is a former industrial or commercial site where future use is affected by real or perceived environmental contamination.] Grant funding is available to complete Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, hazardous materials assessments, cleanup plans, and support-related community outreach. Please join us to learn more about grant-funded activities, site eligibility, and how to apply.
