Saturday, March 17, 10am-12noon, Central Ohio Worker Center / Centro de Trabajadores de Central Ohio, 1067 W. Broad St.
Join us to learn how you can get involved in growing the Central Ohio Worker Center [COWC]!
The COWC is dedicated to fighting for worker and immigration justice in Columbus and across Ohio. Over the past few months, we have placed workers into good-paying jobs, recovered stolen wages, provided deportation defense support, and conducted trainings around the state on immigrant rights organizing. Our growth depends on a team of creative, committed volunteers who work with immigrants, manage social media, provide policy advice, and raise financial support.
We need your help to maintain momentum and continue to build power. We are looking for volunteers to take on small, manageable roles such as membership management, web development, volunteer coordination, etc.
Have coffee with board members Connie Hammond and Byanka Aguirre Zaragoza to learn who we are, what we do, and how you can get involved. We are especially looking for low-wage workers, people of color, immigrants, and youth to get involved. Please share widely. Coffee and pastries will be provided.
Hosted by Central Ohio Worker Center / Centro de Trabajadores de Central Ohio.
