Sunday, March 9, 3-5:30pm, 1311 Summit St.

Mirror Memoirs and Zora’s House are collaborating to offer a healing circle to women (transgender and cisgender), femmes and non-binary Black and indigenous people and other people of color who have survived sexual violence.

Yep, it’s a mouthful, but we want to be intentional in creating this space. During our time together, our circle keeper, Amita Swadhin, will lead a few centering activities to help folks be in our bodies, share an excerpt from the Mirror Memoirs audio archive, and guide participants through a discussion about what it will take to create a world without rape, and what we all need in order to go deeper in our healing, together.

This event is free, but we are accepting donations to support the Mirror Memoirs campaign to hire an audio archive. All donations are 100% tax-deductible. Our aim is to hire an audio editor by the end of summer, in order to release our initial archive of 60 stories (across 15 states in the U.S.), from LGBTQI+ people of color who have survived child sexual abuse, by the end of 2019.

Please RSVP via Eventbrite so that we can plan to have the right amount of snacks.

Accessibility: Zora’s House is wheelchair-accessible with a full ramp from the sidewalk into the event space; there is a wheelchair-accessible bathroom on the first floor.

Hosted by Mirror Memoirs and Zora’s House.
