Looming cutbacks in government funding could impact some of Central Ohio’s most vulnerable populations, including immigrants and refugees. Deep cuts in federal non-defense discretionary spending now appear likely, and concerns about organizations being forced to curtail essential programs and staff, creating gaps in services and increasing strain on already vulnerable populations, are growing. Will cutbacks come, and if so, what impact are they likely to have? What role will innovation and collaboration play in helping to offset their negative effects
— including partnering with private donors, seeking alternative funding streams, and forming advocacy networks — to help fill financial shortfalls?
