Saturday, August 22, 12noon-1pm, intersection of N. High St. and North Broadway

You and your friends are invited to support National Nurses United “Day of National Support for Improved Medicare for All” at hundreds of sites across the country, this coming Saturday, August 22, 12noon-1pm.

In Columbus, we will gather at the intersection of N. High St. and North Broadway, to wave and show our signs of support for Medicare for All. Parking will be available at Kroger and at nearby churches. A mask and social distancing will be required.

COVID-19 has laid bare that our healthcare system is in dire need of reform, as 30 million people have lost their health insurance along with their jobs. Medicare for All could help us now more than ever. 100 million people are now without health insurance when they need it most, and many of those who have it, have “an umbrella that would melt in the rain.” “Nibbling around the edges” of fixing the Affordable Care Act, is a futile activity when the ship is sinking because of the burden of wasteful expenses, adding to the cost and inefficiency of a “non-system of care.”

The historic mass uprisings against police brutality have re-ignited a national conversation on systemic racism that lives in every facet of our society; this includes our country’s broken health care system.

Are you tired of paying outrageous prices for medications, or don’t go to the doctor because of co-pays and deductibles, and know of people who have to decide between meds and food?

One of the best ways to fix the injustices at our system’s core starts with making sure that everyone, no matter what, is guaranteed free health care at the point of service.
