Come to network and socialize with progressive friends with refreshments; there will be live music and a presentation by Annie and Jay Warmke of Blue Rock Station.

Annie and Jay Warmke, owners of Blue Rock Station, will speak at the Second Saturday Salon on “Living Sustainably in a World that’s Running out of Everything.” This talk will include how they have managed to make a living by focusing on sustainable practices while living in an Earthship, a comfortable home made of clean trash, designed by architect Michael Reynolds of Taos, New Mexico. Annie and Jay started Blue Rock Station after living in Europe and leaving behind their careers in the corporate world.

Today, Annie is a goat herder, teaching goat college plus cheese making, and serves as a consultant to groups and individuals focusing on sustainability. Jay is an instructor on various topics associated with sustainable living, including solar installer certification; she also serves as a consultant to non-profit groups that are focused on sustainable practices. Besides writing books, they also have a syndicated radio/podcast series on WGRN/Pacifica Radio Network, When the Biomass Hits the Wind Turbine, with a book by the same name.
