Saturday, March 12, 12noon-3pm, Columbus Metropolitan Library [Parsons Branch], 1113 Parsons Ave. [this event will also be occurring via Zoom]

The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called “Going to HCCO” and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.

For March, our speaker will be Maria Busch, the State Anti-Trafficking Coordinator at the Ohio Department of Public Safety and manager of the Governor’s Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force. Her presentation, “Understanding and Responding to Human Trafficking in Ohio,” will include an in-depth look at the nature and scope of human trafficking in Ohio, including the federal and state legal definitions, Ohio-specific statistics, vulnerabilities associated with human trafficking, and several case examples from Ohio. Maria will also discuss how to identify and respond to potential cases of human trafficking, as well as review Ohio’s anti-trafficking response.

Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You may meet us in-person or attend online.

The formal presentation will begin at noon, with pizza and beverages available at 11:30 am. Note: all COVID protocols (including masking) will be observed when not eating.

Please use this Zoom link to join this event.

Hosted by Humanist Community of Central Ohio.
