Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16, 12noon-11pm, Genoa Park, 303 W. Broad St.
The Official Juneteenth Ohio Festival will take place on Father’s Day weekend, June 15 and 16, in downtown Columbus, at the beautiful Genoa Park located at 303 W. Broad Street. The Juneteenth Ohio festival is a weekend of cultural discovery for all individuals, families, and communities to participate by celebrating the rich cultural heritage of African-American freedom.
History reveals that on June 19, 1865, General Gordon Granger rode into Galveston, Texas and read federal order number 3 to the last remaining slaves. The act gave freedom to all African-Americans, thus beginning freedom celebrations that include all people. Reuniting with family was one of many priorities that African Americans set out to do. Hosting Juneteenth celebrations is a way to do just that!
Today, our mission remains the same; Juneteenth Ohio is the festival that reunites businesses and services with families to improve the quality of all community life.
Two full days of music, food, and family fun! 12noon-11pm.
12noon-3pm admission is free; otherwise, admission is $20.00.
